Ritual Device
A responsive device based on the ritual of the Candomblé religion in Brazil. One side of the device acts out the formulaic steps of the ritual. On the other, these moving parts create ephemeral scenes of smoke and dancing fabric which represent the more intangible aspects of the ritual. The device is interactive and the performance unfolds as it senses the presence of a viewer.
